Our social responsibility

METAL TRADE COMAX, a.s. has taken responsibility for climate change and has set a sustainability strategy to reduce the impact of our production on the environment in accordance with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) under the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).

A positive approach to the environment has been an integral part of our corporate strategy and policy since 2005, when we were certified according to the ISO 14001 Environmental Management system.

On the basis of the LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) study prepared in accordance with ISO 14025:2006 and EN 15804:2015+A2:2019, we have so far prepared 6 EPDs assessing the environmental impact of our products when introducing new technologies or optimizing resources, two of which have already been verified and published on www.environdec.com and four are in the process of verification.

1. Installation of a 2.6 MWh photovoltaic system within MTC with planned expansion
2. Utilization of waste heat from production for heating administrative areas, aiming for a 30% energy consumption reduction
3. Replacement of lighting in the service center production hall with LED sources, leading to a 10% electrical energy saving
Innovation, investment in production technologies
1. Modernization of the painting line, including the upgrade of painting machines, reduction of paint usage, and adiabatic cooling to decrease energy demand
2. Modernization of waste processing through automated sludge control and wastewater management
3. Enhanced production efficiency at the service center through the modernization of longitudinal and packaging lines
4. Significant reduction of technological waste through secondary processing via laser welding
5. Implementation of new production lines – welding and laser in the Litovel profiling center, with efficient energy utilization

Men, recycle! (recycling project)

We think about the future. We have been managing a project for the collection of aluminium waste in schools. More than 100 schools involved in this project have collected thousands of kilograms of aluminium waste over 7 years of the project.

The 8th year of the project (2024/2025) started in September 2024

The collection year coincides with the school term, starting in September and culminating in a meeting of the top four schools at Comax in June.

We thank to all active schools for their part in reducing the carbon footprint.

We're part of a community

Our long-term goal is to minimize the impact of our production on the environment and improve the quality of life in our surroundings. That is why taking care of our employees and building good neighborly relations is important to us.

In January 2024, we started the construction of 3 modern apartment buildings in Velvary, at discounted prices for our employees, with an interesting price for the public as well. As part of the assessment of energy efficiency, the houses received energy class A – extremely economical.

The first of the houses is already under the roof and 30% of its housing capacity has acquired its future owner within 3 months of the start of sales.
